12 proclamations for marriage

Let marriage be held in honour (esteemed worthy, precious, of great price, and especially dear) in all things. And thus let the marriage bed be undefiled (kept undishonored); for God will judge and punish the unchaste [all guilty of sexual vice] and adulterous (Hebrews 13:4)

Marriage is supposed to glorify God, by being a picture of how Christ loves the Church.

Easier said than done, but with God, all things are possible!

I have discovered the hard way that  what you say to and about your spouse (whether that spouse is in the room with you or not) matters a great deal in the health of your marriage.

When you speak words based on the Bible, God can go to work and effect powerful positivity in your covenant relationship with your spouse. Being open to change and quick repentance are part of this.

As you speak these Scripture-based words over yourself and your spouse and the covenant you share, things will start to change.

Don’t give up. The more of these Scripture-based words you speak daily, the more things will change. The enemy may try to resist, but he cannot outlast the eternal, unchanging, all-powerful, living Word of God, that never returns empty (Isaiah 55:10-12)

10 For as the rain and snow come down from the heavens, and return not there again, but water the earth and make it bring forth and sprout, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 11 So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return to Me void [without producing any effect, useless], but it shall accomplish that which I please and purpose, and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it. 1For you shall go out [from the spiritual exile caused by sin and evil into the homeland] with joy and be led forth [by your Leader, the Lord Himself, and His word] with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands (Isaiah 55:10-12)

Here are a some of the things I speak often about my marriage and/or husband and myself as his wife:

(1) Thank You, Father, that this marriage is born of you and thus overcomes the world.

(2) Thank You, Father, for the enduring intimacies we share, that byYour help are growing daily.

(3) Thank You, Father, You have turned the bitter waters into sweet, and turned the curse into a blessing for us, because You love us.

(4) Thank You, Father, that by Your help, my husband loves me as Christ loves the Church, and gives himself for me.

(5)Thank You,Father, that every other female but me is forever strange flesh to him in every situation, and he is forever strange flesh to every other female in every situation.

(6) Thank You, Father, that by Your help, my mouth speaks excellent and princely things, and the opening of my lips is for right things.

(7) Thank You, Father, that by Your help, my gentleness is evident to all, especially to my husband, and I have a beautiful meek and quiet spirit that is of great price in Your sight.

(8) Thank You, Father, that my husband is a good and perfect gift to me, and me to him.

(9) Thank You, Father, that by Your help, I am a tender, gentle, and attractive wife to my husband at all times.

(10) Thank You, Father, that by Your help, I am a wise, understanding, and prudent wife to him, from You.

(11) Thank You, Father, that by Your help, I am a wife earnest and strong in character, a crowning joy to my husband.

(12) Thank You, LORD, this marriage is arranged by You, the King, and it is marvellous in our eyes! You have done great things for us, and we are filled with joy!

Remember also that, if you are both born again by faith in Christ Jesus, then your husband is first a son of God, and thus your brother in Christ, and after that, your husband. Most of us are not taught that, and I certainly wasn’t.

But the LORD knows what we need, and He is for us! Hallelujah!

Use the powerful tool of your words to shape your marriage for Heaven today!
