Is your wedding date is set and have you agreed on a budget wedding? Firstly, congratulations and secondly, let me tell you that this is a very wise decision.
Splurging a huge amount of money in order to throw a lavish wedding is not a very smart thing to do today! And trust me, this does not mean you have to sacrifice on happiness and celebrations. All you need to do is plan tactfully and incorporate everything properly.
As an event manager, I have seen plenty of successful budget wedding parties that are as beautiful as the lavish ones. Yes, you read that right. Here are a few tips to follow for a successful budget wedding.
Don’t bloat the guest list: You have to control the guest list from bloating. While inviting everyone you know might sound tempting, but you have to keep the group close and intimate so that you do not exceed your budget. Make a list of the invitees and try to keep it as minimum as possible.
Book a banquet that provides other services: Hiring separate teams for food, decoration, photo and video can be quite expensive. But luckily, there are inexpensive wedding venues that provide all these modern amenities at quite reasonable prices. Also, one thing I must mention is that many people think that countryside weddings will help them reduce their cost. But let me tell you that this is a complete misconception. Have you thought of the travelling cost? Plus, you also may have to rent cars for your guests. So, make sure you book a venue that is located in the heart of the city.
And here is a list of services that you should check while short listing, so that you do not have to make payments to separate teams for separate purposes. And while talking to the management team, let them know about your budget.
Catering – You must check if the hall provides catering services or not because no celebration is complete without lip-smacking delicacies. Reputed halls also provide you with a wedding cake. This is mandatory, as outside caterers can not only charge high prices, but also can provide you with bland and tasteless food. But since you are booking the hall, they will be much more responsible about all their services.
Decoration – Hiring a separate team for decorating the hall can be quite heavy for the pockets. But there are many reception venues, which have an internal team who takes care of every segment. From centrepieces to lighting, they will deck up the place just the way you like.
Photo & video – Capturing moments of the “biggest day of your life” is mandatory! But hiring photographers separately can be quite expensive, but there are many event managers that provide you with this facility, and they make sure that wonderful shots from your day are captured, which you can cherish throughout your life.
Entertainment – No wedding party is complete without that mandatory couple dance. So, make sure that they have an in-house DJ, music systems and a good dance floor where you can groove with the love of your life.
Skip the bridesmaids and groomsmen gifts – Well, if your budget is tight, it is better to skip the bridesmaid and groomsmen gifts and since they are your closest friends and well-wishers, I am sure they would understand.
These are some essential tips, which I am sure would help you to plan a budget wedding.
If not, then research more and remember that the success of a budget wedding is meticulous planning!
