Warrior’s Armour of God Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Your warriors prepare for battle today – to guard our lives against attack. Today we claim victory over Satan by putting on the whole armour of God.

Dear God, we put on full protection from Your hands alone.

We ask for Your help in remembering to put on Your full armour every day, for You give us all that we need to stand firm in this world.

Forgive us God for the times we’ve been unprepared, too busy to care, or trying to fight and wrestle in our own strength.

We put on the Girdle of Truth – May we stand firm in the truth of Your Word so we will not be victims of Satan’s lies. We put on the belt of truth to protect against lies and deception.

We put on the Breastplate of Righteousness – May it guard our hearts from evil so we will remain pure and holy, protected under the blood of Jesus Christ.

Let the breastplate of righteousness protect our hearts from the temptations we battle every moment.

We put on the Shoes of Peace – May we stand firm in the Good News of the Gospel so Your peace will shine through us and be a light to all we encounter. We put the gospel of peace on our feet, so we’re ready to take your light wherever You send us this day.

We take up the Shield of Faith – We take up Your shield of faith that will extinguish all the darts and threats hurled our way by the enemy. We believe in Your power to protect us and we choose to trust in You. May we be ever ready to face Satan’s fiery darts of doubt, denial, and deceit so we will not be vulnerable to spiritual defeat.

We put on the Helmet of Salvation – May we keep our minds focused on You, so Satan will not have a stronghold on our thoughts. We put on the helmet of salvation, which covers our minds and thoughts, reminding us that we are children of the day, forgiven, set free, saved by the grace of Christ Jesus.

We take the Sword of the Spirit –  Your very Word, the one offensive weapon given to us for battle, which has the power to demolish strongholds, alive, active and sharper than any double-edged sword. May Your Word be ready in our hands so we can expose the tempting words of Satan.

We choose to walk in peace and freedom of Your Spirit and not be overcome with fear and anxious thoughts.

Thank You, Abba Father, for equipping and enabling us to resist the devil’s attacks. In the powerful name of Jesus.

Lord Jesus, we thank You that You have already won the victory. Because of Your death on the Cross, Satan’s fate has been sealed.

Thank You for Your Word that can expose our own sinful desires and refute the lies of the devil. Help us to stand firm, rooted in the faith, shielded by Your armour and dependent on Your grace.

Holy Spirit, we love You. Help us to resist the devil today. Thank You that we never fight alone, for You are constantly at work on our behalf, shielding, protecting, strengthening, exposing deeds of darkness, bringing to light what needs to be known, covering us from the cruel attacks we face – even when we’re unaware.

Heavenly Father, by faith, we Your warriors, have put on the whole armour of God.

We are prepared to live this day in spiritual victory!

In the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord – the one who crushed the head of the serpent, we pray.

Amen.
