Are you fulfilling God’s vision?

How old are you?

Your godly vision, dream or divine purpose in life is that God-designed, glorious future exclusively for you. It is the road map or plan and agenda from God to a very successful and fulfilling destiny (Jeremiah 29:11-14)

Do you have a vision? Yes, you do. It’s hidden in your deepest passion, strongest desire or in that legitimate endeavour that provokes great enthusiasm, passion and fulfilment each time you think of it or do it.

Now, it may seem small and trivial today. Develop it through study, research and diligent application BY FAITH while seeking the LORD day and night for wisdom and creativity.

Through [skilful and godly] wisdom a house [a life, a home, a family, business, ministry, vision] is built, And by understanding it is established [on a sound and good foundation], And by knowledge its rooms – all aspects of it – are filled with all precious and pleasant riches or great success (Proverbs 24:3)

And if you think your vision seems too big and intimidating, don’t be discouraged. Break it up into achievable bits and then start from where you stand with what you have in hand. Before long you’ll be accomplishing great chunks of that seemingly colossal dream, to the glory of God! START SMALL, THINK, PRAY BIG AND NEVER GIVE UP!

The LORD gives us great, impossible dreams so that we would seek Him fervently and continually for the blue print, supernatural provision and divine capacity to accomplish, that He, God alone provides (Exodus 25:40)

Unfortunately, many great and powerful visions have been swallowed up or diluted by the dominating visions of our mentors, organisations, or some ministry where we serve and have now decided to rest and recline permanently.

The Church in particular, is not an indefinite storage tank or permanent site. It’s a school or a womb, designed to deliver the precious children of God into maturity, independence – depending only and totally on the leading of the Holy Spirit.  And finally into interdependence – using their unique gifts, visions and calling to serve and bless the body of Christ. And also, to further the gospel as originals and not as extensions, copies or duplicates of other ministries or organisations, indefinitely.

The risk of faith can never be avoided if we must succeed and enjoy the stupendous rewards of our unique, PRIMARY visions from God. A bird, too afraid to venture that first dreaded, risky flight, will never experience the liberty, glory and limitless benefits of space exploration!

Even our LORD Jesus Christ had to break free from His biological family’s vision of carpentry (Mark 6:3), John the Baptist’s vision and ministry (John 1:26-39), and then His third SECONDARY vision as a lay reader in (His local Church) the Synagogue (Luke 4:16), by withdrawing into the solitude of prayer and fasting for 40 days (Mark 1:12, 13)

For 3 years and more years afterwards, Paul, the incredible apostle, separated himself to secure, develop and establish his primary, unique, spectacular vision and mandate to focus on reaching only the Gentile world with the gospel of Jesus Christ (Galatians 1:11-24)

Operating a SECONDARY vision (serving under a ministry or organisation) is not wrong; IT’S NECESSARY, a necessary process for growth and progress. But functioning that way indefinitely is inimical to our healthy spiritual socio-economic development and that of the entire body of Christ.

Philip and the other believers in Jerusalem didn’t enjoy how they were suddenly and forcefully thrust out of the regular, comfortable fellowship they enjoyed under the leadership of Peter and other apostles. But, that was what set them at liberty to experience God’s ultimate purpose for their INDIVIDUAL lives and ministries in the form of massive miraculous manifestations in Samaria and everywhere they went! (Acts 8:1-40; 11:19-21)

Jesus’ disciples were scattered, to be gathered again to wait for the Holy Spirit’s visitation on the day of Pentecost, just after Jesus was arrested and crucified (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:1-47)

Primary, unique visions can never unfold without separation from the normal in order to wait on the LORD for the unusual!

How old are you? If you’re reasonably mature spiritually and are serving HUMBLY, PASSIONATELY AND FAITHFULLY in some ministry/organisation (secondary vision), I want you to ask like Jacob (Genesis 30:30) The Lord has blessed you through everything I’ve done. But now, what about me? When can I start providing for my own family/vision/ministry/dream?

Now remember, though Jacob’s new, independent beginning was a struggle, the glorious outcome, the Nation of Israel, would not have been if he remained with his uncle Laban, contending for positions, posts and property!

I encourage you to go lock yourself up in the solitude of prayer and fasting, seeking the LORD of the harvest alone for the wisdom, courage, details and strategy for your unique vision, mandate, gift or divine purpose.

Because, until we all get to perfect, mature and apply our unique gifts and visions independently, led by the Holy Spirit, the Church of Jesus Christ will keep duplicating old visions to a new, future generation of believers and sinners, who are yearning for change and a fresh breath of divine creativity. Without which, productivity and the ultimate fulfilment of God’s purpose for this complex world and new generation, will be a mere illusion.

Most times, in order to see the miraculous, we have to do the ridiculous in righteousness! Faith is risk, great faith is high risk. And great faith, being the pathway to greatness, pleases God greatly and overcomes the world and its challenges! Miracles do not show up where they’re needed, but where they’re expected! Make the move now and don’t be afraid.  (Ephesians 4:15, 16)

Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.

Delay could be dangerous, deadly and disastrous! What are we waiting for, when waiting on the LORD is the only infallible solution awaiting us. GOD IS WAITING FOR YOU!

Finally, mentors and leaders should anticipate, initiate and facilitate the separation of faithful, competent and mature protégés. That’s God’s will for the Church of Jesus Christ today. Hallelujah!
