Cream 1 cup butter (room temp) and 1 cup powdered sugar. Add 2 large egg yolks+ 1 tsp vanilla essence + 1/2 tsp almond essence. Beat well.
Add 2 1/2 cups flour + salt in three steps. Mix till it forms a smooth soft dough.
Remove half the dough and add red food colouring to it.
Make walnut size balls of both the dough.
Roll into long ropes. Keep the red and white rope next to each other and start twisting it together.
Bake at 190° C for 8-10 min or until light brown.
Note: If the dough is too soft, refrigerate it for half an hour, then use.
