Monday Reflection – April 29

There are people in our lives who we love unconditionally. Some can never do wrong in our eyes and even if they do, we are quick to forgive them, willing to defend them and even blame ourselves for what they did – for they can never outlove us.

But the ONLY person who loves you and me that way is JESUS.

His love is timeless and unconditional. You can run to Him even if you mess up big time.

Yet we do not often return that love. He is the one you can turn to at 2 in the morning when you are in pain. You can talk to Him about anything big or small, 24/7 without fear of being judged. He will never cast you away or bad mouth you or shun you.

He was born for us, lived for us, suffered for us, died for us and heals us, hears us even today – every moment.

Yet, we often run to people, not to God. We cannot expect to be filled by people – each one of us is struggling – one empty vessel cannot fill another. That large emptiness you feel can be filled only by JESUS.

Why don’t you feel that connection to Jesus that many speak of? Because you do not believe and you do not reach out to touch Him. You do not believe HE is your God and Saviour. You still think the empty promises of an empty world can fulfil and heal you. And even when you know deep down that only HE can give you that love, you hold back. Ego, pride, anger, hurt, doubt – cast it aside for a lifetime. Do it now before life brings you to your knees or you are too late.

People may help, care, but it is the LORD who brings meaning to the word LOVE.

Greater love has no man than this….
