Monday Reflection – Aug 12

It’s amazing how much our thoughts and words have the power to build and to destroy.

Both ourselves and others.

There is a reason why the Bible asks us to take each thought and captive to Christ. You just cannot think whatever thought every demon throws at you, ponder over nothings and create pain in your own life or others’ just because satan threw some negative and often false thought at you.

We often see how the nicest, kindest people turn into people we cannot recognise anymore because they let themselves be led by their negative thinking patterns.

You cannot carry garbage without getting your hands dirtied. You cannot pour perfume out without it touching your fingers or the air around you.

You and I need to take each thought and filter the evil out. Especially today where we judge and are getting judged for our gender, status, race, religion. You stop thinking evil, sticking labels on people, then teach your children too.

You cannot control others, the only thing you can control is YOUR thought. That first thought – if its not in agreement with the Word of God – which means, “whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy – think about such things”. That is where the buck stops.

Ever wars begin with one thought.

Every act of sin, judgement, prejudice, anger, criticism, perversion, begins in the mind. That filth, gossip, insult, pettiness, spite that comes out of you doesn’t agree with GOD. And your enemy is NOT God’s enemy. He/she is somebody Jesus died for.

So do please clean up your mind first. Then the actions and words will follow. The Holy Spirit can do the best clean up for you, if you let Him.

May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer (Psalm 19:14)
