Monday Reflection – Dec 16

The Christmas season is a reminder – to clear our hearts and lives of anything that resists Christlike love.

The first to be routed is the spirit of offense. You may be carrying it. You could also be partnering with someone who is carrying the spirit of offense. Someone who has offended your loved one – does not have to offend you too, and lifelong. Dont recruit others to your ‘party of the offended’.

The spirit of offense imagines slights which were never given and twists words into what was never spoken. You feel attacked – before anything has actually happened or when NOTHING has happened. You are offended by every sleight and even every rumour of a sleight.

This is not implying that we shouldn’t be cautious about setting healthy boundaries. Just don’t let them define you.

When we are so easily offended, we lack unity, healthy emotional connections, love and most importantly, Christ’s peace. We miss out on fun, joy and blessings of life. You may dislike a ministry, church, community, group, company, family or person – because of what they did or did not do.

Be very much on guard against offense – throw it out as soon as it tries to gain space in your heart and repent if you notice it is starting to creep in. Anger, bitterness, hate, pride and an unforgiving attitude – are breeding grounds for the spirit of offense.

How can you believe lies about others, when satan has spoken lies about you to them?

Restoration begins with the help of the Holy Spirit. Take it all to JESUS. Let Him deal with the lies the enemy is whispering to you.

Great peace have they which love thy law: And nothing shall offend them (Psalm 119:165)

Don’t be the type of person who runs to the phone when offended, without going to Jesus on the throne.
