Monday Reflection – Jan 29

Sometimes you could have physical pain or emotional pain, or even both and learn to live with it. You could have been in that situation for so long that it has become a part of you.

Sadly, seemingly perfect people could be living unhappy or even mediocre lives, accepting that this is all there is to life. You have been dysfunctional for so long that you learn to survive that way.

As the word of God says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy” but Jesus came so that we “may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10)

God wants you to enjoy everyday life. He does not want us to live miserable lives and just wait to be happy when we once reach heaven. You asked for that job, ask God for the grace to not just excel in it, but to enjoy it. Don’t just raise a family, enjoy each day with them. Don’t just learn a skill or take up a hobby, truly enjoy it. God who loved us gave us music, books, good food, nature, skills – relish them all.

Even during a hardship, you can still overcome it, praising God. Its just a dip in the road, not the end of your trip. Don’t worry about the future, don’t moan about the past. JESUS AND YOU can make today awesome. God is good, all the time. All the time, God is good.

Don’t just live your days mechanically ticking all the chore boxes. Create intimacy with Jesus, enjoy and cherish each blessing. Family, friendships, travel, health, time and many, many more.

Sit a while and talk to Jesus daily. Read the Word. Worship. Be thankful. Give and receive love. Truly care.

Change what needs to be changed – in yourself. The pain of changing is hard, but the pain of staying the same can be harder.

Learn to live the life that Jesus died to give you. Upgrade today.
