Monday Reflection – Oct 14

This world is in constant battle. Satan is desperately trying to separate you and me from the love, joy and peace of God. He lies to us constantly about God, people, situations. Then sends tests, trials, sickness and pain to separate us eternally from God. If we are wise, we will recognise the true enemy – satan.

You better be in the Word, cos you’ll hear a tape play in your head – whenever you’re facing trials, pain, sickness, tribulation or persecution – “IF God loves me, why? Why me, God? Why now?”

Why did someone die, why did happy times end, why did that trusted person deceive you? I know His love for me cos He died for me and I live in communion with the Holy Spirit. That intimacy is available to any child of God who cries out to JESUS. The very name JESUS carries so much power that it has saved me whenever I called out to Him. God may not mollycoddle us, He may stay quiet, backing us up gently, when He needs us to mature spiritually. But JESUS has always, always come through. Jesus never promised that weapons would not be formed against us; He promised that no weapon formed against us shall prosper.

Your attitude in the valley matters. Learn whatever you need to learn from your trial and quickly. Satan might even throw more pain: it’s hard to watch others being blessed when you seem to be on hold for years. That’s God making you grow up! Their blessings are not your blessings, their curses are not your curses. Jesus has plenty of blessings in store for those that love Him.

And the Word reveals the love of God: “For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 8:39)

Don’t give a human being, situation, money or success the sole power to give you happiness. Those cannot. Never forever.

Go into the Word daily and deeply; be free.

If the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed. Not stressed, angry, sad, religious, judgemental or manipulated. Free indeed; thank You, Jesus.

Happiness can be circumstantial, but joy is spiritual. That’s truly from JESUS.
