In life, we often face change. The places we know, the people we meet, the status of life we enjoy – everything keeps changing. Homes change, locations change, jobs change, possessions change and money too will come and go.
Israelites in the Bible faced change constantly. They lived under God’s blessings, faced slavery, then again was on a wheel of constant movement on their way to Canaan.
But the striking factor: they were being led by the Presence of the Lord – the pillar of fire/cloud. Whenever the pillar stopped, they would pitch their tents. But whenever the pillar moved, they moved with HIM. The Psalmist declares, “Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place” (Psalm 91:9)
The truth is that we have no permanent home, permanent people or permanent things. JESUS is the only constant. Perhaps that is why the Word asks us to love people like Jesus did, but trust only God.
The Lord is our ONLY resting place, our refuge and place of habitation. Jesus remains GOD ETERNAL. His presence is our place of habitation. His presence is where we find total rest. Hallelujah!
Maybe you’re in a season of hard and even painful transition and it looks like life has put you on a hamster wheel of change, distress and confusion.
Be still. Know that He is God.
Make Him your dwelling place, your place of habitation, Make JESUS your sole refuge because He’s the ONLY constant, trustworthy one. He doesn’t change. El Shaddai. From age to age He remains our rock eternal.
Our REST is in Him and Him alone. Selah.
