Prayer against abortion

Eternal God,

You have revealed Yourself as the Father of all Life.

We praise You for the fatherly care which You extend to all creation, and especially to us, made in Your image and likeness.

Abba Father, extend Your hand of protection to those threatened by abortion and save them from its destructive power.

Father, we pray boldly that this precious babies have no evil done unto their innocent lives. Keep them safe and secure in Your arms and love.

Give us grace to reach out lovingly and compassionately to women who have had an abortion. If we have been in any way a part of one – we plead Your forgiveness and surrender our guilt.

Lord Jesus, we ask You to bless and protect the children who today are in their mothers’ wombs. Save them from the danger of abortion.

Lord Jesus, You are the God of protection and love and I ask that You wrap these babies’ lives up in your mighty protection.

Lord, You took our human nature upon Yourself. You shared our life and death, our childhood and adulthood. You also shared our time in the womb.

While still God, while worshipped and adored by the angels, while Almighty and filling every part of the universe, You dwelt for nine months in the womb of Mary. You were our Redeemer in the womb, our God who was an unborn child.

Give Your strength to all fathers, that they may never give in to the fears that may tempt them to facilitate abortions.

Give their mothers the grace to give themselves body and soul, for their children. Bless all families, sanctify the union of spouses, render fruitful their love.

Enlighten all leaders and lawmakers with the light of your Spirit, so that people and nations may recognise and respect the sacred nature of every human life.

Help all people to recognise in the unborn child – a sister, a brother – saved by You, our Redeemer. Bless our families and bless our land, that we may have the joy of welcoming and nurturing the life of which You are the eternal source.

Reawaken in us respect for every unborn life, make us capable of seeing in the fruit of the maternal womb the miraculous work of the Creator and open our hearts to generously welcome every child that comes into life.

For all helpless little children who die in the womb of their mother, we pray that all of these little souls will be given eternal life by You, our Lord Jesus Christ.
