Prayer for teachers

Lord Jesus, today we surrender to You all the teachers we have ever had – from our childhood to now.

As many students attend classes online these weeks, we acknowledge the sacrifice and efforts of hours of dedication that thousands of teachers have put in.

Thank You Lord, for those who taught us everything – from discipline to sharing, from knowledge to integrity.

We pray that You would challenge the hearts of our educators to recognise the vulnerabilities of children and to balance discipline with care. We pray for a happy learning environment where trust is not exploited.

Your word instructs us to start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it. Lord, raise up teachers with godly standards and unbiased teaching techniques; we pray that our classrooms will return to the godly principles which our forefathers held dear.

We pray that each teacher is touched by You and guided, in a special way. May God the Father prepare their journey, Jesus the Son lead their footsteps and the Holy Spirit watch over them.

May good Christian men and women take up this noble commitment to become teachers. Bless their students to know You and about You, first and last. You are the ultimate teacher. Please teach and instruct all teachers and students in Your love.

We pray that You would guard and guide them in the vital responsibility of educating a new generation of young people.
