We will always love mussels and clams, roasted or curried. Simple, spicy and delicious.
Family taught us that the spicier the food is, the better. This one is fiery hot and gets you crying tears of joy in no time.
Clean 3 cups clams (or mussels) well. Soak them in water to which a tsp of salt and 1/2 tsp turmeric powder has been added. Drain well.
Marinate the clams/mussels with a paste made of 2 tsp chilli powder, 1 tsp black pepper powder, 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp garam masala and salt, for an hour.
Heat coconut oil in a shallow pan. Add 2 sprigs of curry leaves. Shallow fry the clams/mussels.
Serve with warm rice and any yoghurt-based gravy.
