India can always boast of an enticing spread, as India has many regions and cuisines, highlighting our cultural diversity. What better way to mark the day and a surge of patriotism, than with the hues of the Indian flag on your dining table. Go on – elevate a piece of bread into a fancy tricolour sandwich!

Make a topping mix: of 1 cup of grated cabbage, 1 cup of grated carrots, 1 cup of chopped spring onions and salt. Add 2 chopped green chillies too if you like it spicy.

Wet a few bread slices with milk.

Spread the topping on each slice evenly. Beat 2 eggs. Coat each slice with the beaten egg.

Warm butter on a grill or pan. Toast each slice evenly, making sure that the topping does not fall off.
